Happy Book Day to Me!!

Updated: Jan 22, 2022

Today is an exciting day for me. My second thriller novel, FOLLOW YOU DOWN, is officially released and is available for order. This day is the culmination of more than two years worth of work, from writing and rewriting to final edits with my publisher. The end result, I hope, will thrill and entertain.

FOLLOW YOU DOWN is a dark novel of suspense about a New York attorney named Neil Brewster. He has everything he's ever wanted: an expensive Manhattan apartment, a gorgeous fiancée, a forthcoming partnership in his law firm, and a reputation for winning even the most hopeless cases. His utter ruthlessness and bullying--both in and out of the courtroom--are legendary, and have been since his childhood.

With a new high profile court case looming, a camping reunion with his old high school cronies becomes just the distraction he needs, especially after he discovers a former lover is staying nearby.

But Neil’s weekend plunges into disarray when he's confronted with the sins of his past. After learning about the suicide of the boy he bullied relentlessly as a teenager, Neil is tormented by ghostly voices and apparitions. Frantic, Neil descends into a frenzied search for answers, only to discover that things aren't always what they seem.

Throughout this journey, there have been a number of people who have contributed to this effort. First and foremost, I want to thank my wife, Diane, for her love and support, and for “tolerating” this little habit called writing. Her patience and understanding of my need for “space” while I write is appreciated. I couldn’t ask for a better partner on life’s journey.

Thanks also to my editor, Cherrita Lee, without whom this book would be full of every grammatical error known to man. Her ability to add the polish to my work is indispensable. As always, it was a pleasure to work with her.

I’d like to extend my gratitude to the members of my critique group: Sara Badaracco, Michael Clarke, Karin Wandersee, Joan Hill, Ellie Searl, Christine Schulden, and Paul Popiel. Their criticism, both good and bad, was invaluable, particularly through some significant revisions.

Thanks also to Blenda Morris, Maggie Collier, Laura Fiorentino, Bill Bochow, and Sonja Bochow for being early readers of a “far from ready for primetime” version of this story. The value of their feedback was inestimable, and critical to the further development of this book.

And finally, thanks to Dayna Anderson and everyone at Amberjack Publishing for being willing to invest in me and my book. It is always gratifying to work with such a great group of people.

FOLLOW YOU DOWN is on sale now at all major booksellers.
